Jack (Landon) In The Box

It's true...there's no better toy than a UPS box.

Having fun with PapPap :)

Visiting a firehouse back in PA...He was beyond excited~

Thanks for setting this up, Mimi!

they look like they're
having a real conversation
the only way they could coax him out of the
driver's seat was to turn on the flashing lights

very serious about making sure no one would take off his new fire hat

crisis corner

This is Landon's Crisis Corner.

Why?  Because the end of every nap results in a crisis.

Does anyone else's kid wake up from a nap in complete meltdown mode?
Landon does. He goes down for a nap without a hitch and wakes up with
laser beams shooting out of his eyeballs.

This is quite the opposite of his sister.  Elisabeth could hang in her room for 30+ minutes and completely entertain herself by singing different renditions of every song she's ever heard.
(Lately, the two fav songs have been "Moves like Jagger Dragon" and "Mother Knows Best," from Rapunzel.)

Going into Landon's room requires battle gear.
Sometimes I wait out the storm and other times I go in early and end up on the front line.
This first 5 minutes can be kinda funny, just because he is so dramatic, but then
I start to feel bad for him because he is still so angry 30 minutes later.

At one point, I saw him stirring on the monitor and my hands and feet started to sweat.
Well, that's ridiculous..I know..and that's exactly why, at that same moment,
I decided I was smarter than a baby and needed to outsmart Hyde's theatrical performances.

I found a bath toy net in our closet, tied it around the crib slats and
stuffed it with toys, books and a snack.

Viola!

Happy boy returned.
Take that, MacGyver (and baby safety/hazard regulations)

what's funny about this picture is not his amazing outfit...or his graceful sleeping position.
it's because this is probably the third time we've ever seen him sleep on his back.

I'm a genius. Thanks.

a "balentime's" day surprise

my little chocoholic and future construction worker hard at work...
they missed seeing their daddy, while we were in pa, but the special
delivery of flowers and chocolate bubble wrap filled the "balentime's" day void!

i like it!

I don't really recall when Landon said his first word (second child syndrome) but I do remember that he went from zero to hero within a two day span.  From one word to about 10 within those 48 hours.
Recently, he's picked up on a few simple phrases...
Obvi, his favorites were "hi/bye, daddy" and "hot coffee" but from there, he took off and explored more two word phrases and even threw in three (and the very rare *fourth word) for good measure.

His current favs:

"woah! big truck!"
"oh, my! light!"
"i like it"
"i love it"
"i love you"
"woah! tick tock clock!"
*"i love you, daddy"

grease monkey

Little boys, who rub a 1/2 a jar of vaseline through their hair, require 5 shampoos with some serious scrubbing.
