spent 18 hours at the dealership yesterday and wound up with a *spankin'* new ride...
we really wanted to keep our old car for a few more years but it just wasn't going to work out.
we had an optional third row seat but we couldn't comfortably (or safely) fit one of the car seats in the back. i'll definitely miss the luxury of not having to clean the navy blue exterior every couple of months and the HUGE cargo space in the back buuuut, i'm pretty pumped to have something sparkly new...and spacious!

we decided to check out a few cars around lunch time, took a "tester" out for the day
and somehow ended up at the dealership for the rest of the evening.
while ryan was on # negotiation duty, i was on non-napping toddler duty.
not sure who had the most fun.
why not take the kids back home you ask? well, that would have been a GENIUS idea, had the crew not taken our car for a maintenance upgrade. see ya later in the evening, car seats!
SO...if you ever find yourself stuck at a car dealership for 3+ hours,
here's what to expect from two cranky little people.
visit the insanely clean bathroom 500 times just to play with the "xcelerator" hand dryers.
(looks like fun to put your face under them)
play hide and seek in the waiting room lounge.
(relatively fun)
lick the bumpers of freshly waxed corvettes.
(let's move up the scale from 0 to 5. mildy mortifying)
throw a red-faced tantrum, while a salesman holds a door, in anticipation of your departure.
(back down to 2. this was only slightly mortifying. tantrums don't really phase me.)
spit massive wads of chex cereal on the relentlessly buffed showroom floor, on your way out.
(no doubt, a 10. this was just completely mortifying. almost negates last scenario's comment)
put on a good show for the smoking employees, while you throw a kicking and screaming fit.
(slightly entertaining...slide back down the scale to a 2.)
pick the freshly bloomed tulips.
(ahh, back to 0.)
run down a hill and skin your knees.
:(
visit wendy's and order frosties, in order to divert the attention from the skinned knees.
:)
...and then have your mom clean them up from the ground 5 minutes after they're ordered.
and finally...
take your shoes off and run through the showcase garage, in anticipation of heading home in a new car!!
:)

But look what you went home with in the end! Sweet!
