Ahoy, Matey!

Elisabeth's first time on a boat was with Captain Mike, after Daddy and PapPap's annual deep sea fishing trip.  The boys set sail at 5:30 a.m., hoping to catch a marlin but ended up catching the second best thing...a sailfish!  As usual, they reigned in a few Mahi Mahi (dolphin,) called it a day and headed back to the dock.

MEANWHILE...back at the Marina, I was busy cleaning up Cheez-Its and chocolate milk.  I'll skip that story because I'd rather not relive that long half hour but it all ended well because I remembered to bring my "dock drink."

The boys don't realize it yet but she's the lucky marlin charm...

My first dolphin...

That's a lotta fish to freeze

Friday night was the perfect ending to our week at the beach. We went to one of our favorite restaurants, Breakwater, followed by and hour and a half dolphin tour on the "Miss Hatteras."

It's not an appropriate boat ride without
an ice cream sandwich.

Someone wants to join
the Captain!

I really wanted to get a nice picture of them
and...

Has anyone seen my sister?

OBX 2011

It's BEACH TIME!!

This was right before I dropped my bracelet in the water (left elisabeth to stand by herself because I'm such a good mom) and tried to grab it...Elisabeth, needless to say, got swept off her feet by a wave.

She was a trooper...back out in the water with Pap Pap minutes later!

Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives

Whatever you call them, they were all glorious, according to Landon.  One night, his dinner consisted of spanish mackeral, corn on the cob, cheerios, a hushpuppy, green beans and rice pilaf.  The man is a machine.  I am considering the idea of working again, just so we can pack away some extra $ for his food fund.

we found out that, in a pinch, corn on the cob will entertain for hours.  i may just start carrying a spare in my diaper bag.
blackberries are YUMMY!!  This wasn't at the beach but I had to put it somewhere...

she's armed and ready to tackle our first dinner at dirty dick's crab house!

i can't get her to eat a hamburger but the girl sure can clean a plate full of linguini and clam sauce.  i'm not even lying, this girl will have some rockin' school lunches.  she would prefer seared tuna with mango chutney over chicken patty and tater tots any day.

going...
going...
gone.

this was right before she decided to stop and pee in the street.

Yes, that's a pizza pan.  We don't feed him like that all the time...I promise.

I hope our kids become chefs one day...that'd be nice.  I'd make them cook for us, for sure.  I might even throw a temper tantrum at their dinner table when my wine glass is empty ;)

Girl Vs. Food

It was Sushi Night at our house last night and Aunt Mis had to take some chopstick lessons...from Elisabeth.

Yes, she's a pro at using chopsticks ;)
